We adopted a 3-year-old boy, and when my husband tried to bathe him for the first time, he yelled, ‘We need to take him back!’

After ten years of marriage and failed attempts to conceive, Mia and Mark decided to adopt. Mia handled the process, and when she saw Sam’s photo, “his sky-blue eyes” captivated her. Though they initially wanted an infant, they welcomed three-year-old Sam into their lives, overjoyed to start this new chapter.

Sam adjusted well, even calling Mia “mom” within weeks. Life seemed perfect, and Mia cherished her dream of motherhood finally coming true.

One evening, Mark offered to bathe Sam to bond with him. Minutes later, he ran out shouting, “We must return him!” Confused and heartbroken, Mia couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

Later, Mia noticed Sam’s birthmark matched one on Mark’s foot. When confronted, Mark confessed he suspected Sam was his biological son from a brief affair years earlier. Learning of the betrayal during their IVF struggles shattered Mia.

Mia chose divorce, becoming Sam’s sole guardian after Mark relinquished parental rights. While Mark maintained limited contact, Mia knew her decision was right. She couldn’t forgive someone “ready to give up on his son” to hide his affair.

Now, Mia and Sam thrive together, building a life filled with love and trust.
